I grew up in a family that’s obsessed with food. My mom’s an incredible cook, and my dad has always been focused on nutrition.
I'm also a lifelong vegetarian and always hunting for protein-based foods that will fill me up and keep me going.
I came up with the idea for Biena when I was grocery shopping. I came across a new snack that was marketed as being healthy. Looking at the back, I was disappointed to see there was very little real nutrition there.
In that moment, I thought – there’s got to be something better, and I thought about these chickpea snacks that my mom used to make.
That was the beginning of what led me to create Biena. The rest, as they say, is history!
